And only one still in code.

    New aquisition kinda sucks.

They probably didn't get the last inspection round done because they knew they were selling, let it be the new owner's problem ...

Which would explain about half of the violations. The other half were ones that had not been inspected since ~1999, or had leaks, or hoses that didn't fit, etc.

The company that did the last inspection *last year* dropped the ball.

Was this inspection done by the prior owner...or by an independent company?

I'm asking, because the inspection could have either voided the sale, or forced the prior owner to correct the problem.

It occurs to me to wonder if the owner has other properties. And swapped out good extinguishers with ones from other properties *after* the inspection, but before the sale.

A third party did the inspection last year. I know the prior owners have other properties (although I couldn't say for how much longer) but I don't know if corporate will go after them for this or not.

(My company is buying out a number of competitors nation-wide. This is our second new property for the district in two years, and rumor has it that we will be getting three or four new properties in the district by December or January)

Burned hand teaches best? (No pun intended. )

Seriously, I hope you folks get a procedure in place to avoid this in the future. Those things aren't cheap!
