  • Doctor Who 50th Anniversary Google Doodle

This was available only on the UK Google page, but it has since shown up on the US page now.

    http://www.theguardian.com/technolog...-google-doodle

Objective - guide The Doctor through several levels to retrieve the letters that spell Google - while dealing with the Daleks (and other enemies, I assume). I've managed to get the G and O. I burned through the rest of his regenerations trying to get the rest of the letters.
    Random conversation:
Me: Okay..so I think I get why Zoro wears a bandana
    DDD: Cuz it's cool

So, by using the Doctor's reasoning, bow ties, fezzes and bandanas are cool.

I can't get him to the first "O" - there doesn't seem to be any way to get off the big floating brick or whatever that thing is...plus he keeps getting zapped by Daleks even though he's nowhere near one... arrgh

Just noticed on the Yahoo main page that if you watch the logo, a TARDIS flies by.

As DaDairyDruid said, geeks rule the world today.

I think it was IE causing the problem. I went in on Firefox, and after it was done crashing numerous times *ahem* I was able to play it through to the end. It was cute.

Kind of makes me want to go online and find some old school Doctor Who to watch (Pertwee, Baker, etc) and then maybe catch up on all the newer ones that I've never seen.

If you have Netflix you can watch Classic Who on it I've been having fun introducing my son to the previous doctors, and talking about how far the show's effects have come.
Ha, yes, there's a scene in one of the old ones (I forget which doctor) where someone picks up a wrench and it wobbles...We still joke about the rubber wrench at my house

*activate smug mode* I managed to complete this, only incinarating two Doctors, and both were down to my curiosity rather than incompetence. Doctor one was fried cuz I wanted to see what happened if you touched a Dalek and Doctor two was fried cuz I wanted to see what those weird flashy things in the last level were. XD
