  • How about now!

I work for the red and yellow shipping company, we're pretty good at getting packages delivered, but with all business, sometimes unseen occurrences happen. Here is a scenario I deal with about 20 to 30 times a day.

Me: This is Ratts how can I help you?

SC: My package was supposed to be delivered today, could you please let me know what's going on?

Me: I'd be happy to help you with that (mandatory response) ::looks at order, sees problem Ratts can't fix, but can get it forwarded to an agent who can:: I shiw the shipment is on hold, for more information, I do not know what is needed, but I can get this to an agent who does, may I warn transfer you to that agent?

SC: Okay, but my package was supposed to be delivered today, could you please let me know what's going on?

Me: I do not know, but I can transfer you to an agent who can find out what is needed to get this delivered to you.

SC: I understand, but my package was supposed to be delivered today, could you please let me know what's going on?

Me: I need to transfer you to another agent to fix this, thank you for calling.

So... Now you have robocalls from customers?

I think they wanted you to contact the other agent, find out what the problem was, and then tell them in simple words of no more than two syllables. Why should they have to repeat themselves?
Sorry, my cow died so I don't need your bull

Good Dog, Ratts, I don't know how some of you phone people do it. If my supe was behind me with a barbed taser whip, on the third go-round I'd still give 'em a "Are you aware that you are asking me the same thing over and over?" arrrrgggg!

I think I see what he was getting at - he wanted to know why it wasn't delivered, but you were offering him a way to get it delivered.

Me, I don't care why it didn't get to me on time, as long as it gets to me as soon as possible. So, yeah, this guy's needle was definitely skipping. (Okay, so I'm an old man. I still use vinyl LP references!)
I will not be pushed, stamped, filed, indexed, briefed, debriefed, or numbered. My life is my own. --#6

Even if he did that he'd probably still get "I understand, but my package was supposed to be delivered today, could you please let me know what's going on? " Point is in their mind, their package was supposed to be there on that day. No if ands or buts.
