  • Another wonderful week

Here was my wonderful week of suck.

Our refunds are processed 30 days from request. Yes this is kinda crappy, legal, but crappy. I don't make policy I just follow it.

SC-When will I be getting my refund.
Me-Gives date. (Was scheduled 28 days from his request)
SC-WHAT!!!! This is unacceptable. You made me miss my rent.
(Strike 1-Yes I personally travel all over the country, put guns to customers heads and force them to buy our stuff)
Me-Restate date, that it is under 30 days and he will be refunded. Begin silent treatment.
SC-Well you will be hearing from my lawyer *click*
I would love to hear his lawyers response as well as his own when he hears a fee for sending us a letter.

Ok granted this could be confusing but I mean logic should play a part
SC-I got this cash certificate for part 2 of your program. How do I redeem this?
Me-You will have to purchase part 1 then you can get the part 2 for free.
SC-Well this doesn't say anything about buying part 1.
Me-*head desk* rinse and repeat 4 times

    Next
SC-I need to know the refund policy on my program.
Me-You had 30 days from the time you received your materials. (he purchased in December well past any time frame)
SC-So you mean I cant get my money back.
Me-I'm sorry but your application clearly stated the return policy.
SC-Well maybe if I tell you my history.
Me-(Internally of course)When the hell did I say that I have any power to change written policy or that I would even if you didn't just hit the irk me button (I can but only if someone is super nice to me and I talk to management)

I reward good customers and punish sucky ones. Luckly I work at a place that outside of lying or causing a refund allows me to do as I wish.

General Rant of the week-If I don't ask you to spell you name, DON'T. I'm not sure why this bothers me so much but it does. I understand if you have a complicated name but even then I have worked with people long enough to understand most names. And if you spell jones I will personally think about beating you with a rolled up newspaper.

How about when their name is something like Bob Szichathyikinbock and they spell BOB but not the last name? That drives me NUTS

I always spell my last name because it irks me to have it misspelled. And it always is, because of the whole 'i before e' thing. (it's a German name, and the i and e are reversed.)
And now I will be changing my name, due to marriage, and my new name STILL confuses folk.
I could only WISH it was Jones...!
      I no longer fear HELL.

I spell my name because it's a very common name, with a very uncommon spelling. A lot of people assume that they can spell it, but they can't.

Ah yes. In my years of sucky customer service I have noticed a trend. Only the trashiest of sucky customers (ie the ones that NEVER pay on time) have lawyers. They can't pay their $100 cable bill 3 months in a row, but they can afford a lawyer? PLEASE!

I do all the time, because for some reason people think when I say "Jack" that I'm saying "Chad".

Names sometimes do need to be spelled out - my Mums name is a common surname but with an uncommon spelling - like Smyth instead of Smith. She used to say "Smith, with a y", until she started getting mail addressed to "Mrs Smithy"

I suspect I will be spelling my first name till the end of time.

                Clerk: Your first name?
                Me: Polly
                Clerk: P-A-U-
                Me: P-O-L-L-Y
                Clerk: Oh, Polly

I don't know what it is, but nobody spells it with an 'O' the first time around. It's always Paulie for the first try. And then, they always make that "Oh, Polly" comment. I just spell it, now. Even so, I still get about half of the stuff coming to me spelled the wrong way.

My favorite is when the only time they've encountered my name is either written or typed and they still get it wrong.

                ^-.-^

Don't feel bad . . . I have a simple name, yet I have to spell it out every time.

What is this name you ask? Lynn

L-Y-N-N. You'd think it would be so simple, yet anyone I encounter makes it so damn complicated.

I end up having them repeat my name back as :

                  Lynda
                  Leanne
                  Lydia (huh?)

So I'll be spelling it until the cows come home all because of morons who can't be bothered to listen.

Even sadder is I encounter the same when giving my LAST name
