  • How did you win?

So at work, I bounce back and forth between the front office and running the phones in the back. Most people tend to just do one or the other but a few of us work both areas.

The front office has an upsell competition. The person with the most upsells in week (determined by the amount of extra revenue generated) gets a gift card. I've won it a couple times so far.

The back office reservationists also have begun a contest. But...I don't know how it works. Something about reserving the most reservations or the most revenue or something? Supervisor tried to explain it but I didn't get it. But I've won it 3 times and have $30 in gift cards for my favorite local coffee chain.

My coworkers keep asking "How did you win?" And I have no idea!

Well, at least you have proof that you're doing things right.

It's a good feeling, isn't it? I used to work at Media Play before they went out of business. One month we had a contest for most rewards cards sold and magazine subscription sign-ups. I was overall in 2nd place, yet I worked only 9 hours a week compared to most of the staff who worked double or triple that. I don't consider myself a salesperson at all, but I'm strangely good at it when I put in the effort.

Hehe - i work PT in retail, and while we don't technically ahve sales goals, they want our UPTs and DPTs to be at the same as the store's or above. Now I only work 10-15 hours a week, usually during slow times. And I am very laid back.

Periodically, and sporadically, they decide to "post" everyone's numbers in the back, Which I could care less about. As long as I do what's expected of me, I don't care.

Anyway, back in Dec, I was #1 in UPTS adn #2 in DPTs. i have no idea how that happened, but I joked to the manager i wanted the list framed! mind you, that same list is still up
