  • My Boss Died Yesterday

So I haven't posted here in a while/ I used to work at Taco Hell now I work at the King of Burgers.

I love it there more then I thought I would. The guy in charge really cares about his employees and treats them like family.

That is why I am sad today.

Yesterday when I got to work, I was informed that he had a heart attack and died early that morning.

He was 37 years old. I know it seems strange to be mourning the loss of your boss so heavily but he was one of the few managers in QSR that gave a shit about his employees.

I'm sorry. That sucks. Sounds like we could use more bosses/people like that in the world...we don't need to be losing them.

Sorry to hear about your loss. Why couldn't it happen to a more deserving person - such as Mr. Goodhair, or Nick (from ADM's Weekend From Hell)?

Oh, that makes me cry. Great bosses are hard to find. He was younger than me!

My old boss was diagnosed with stomach cancer two years after he retired. He was actually the guy who hired me, when most places only wanted people with experience, which you can't get without a job, which you can't get without experience, and so on. It was a shame. He was a really nice guy, and all he wanted to do after he retired was to spend his time hunting.

He went through surgery to have his stomach removed, and shortly after that, he stopped by for a visit, and came to see me personally. I didn't think he looked bad, other than losing a bit of weight, but he passed away not too long after that. A lot of us took time off work to attend his funeral, and I ran into quite a few former coworkers. If I wasn't able to tell before, being in the funeral procession would have told me just how well-liked this guy was. I was in the middle of the thing, and I couldn't see the start or end of it.

I'm sorry for your loss, and for his family.
I don't have an attitude problem. You have a perception problem.
