I do believe my teachers are trying to overload my brain this semester...

2 annotated bibliographies, 1 research proposal, 4 out of class essays, 5 more in class essays, and 2 research projects....

    Thats all for one class.

    proposal Essay..

In the Real world, no one undertakes a major civic project or policy change initiative without first soliciting some kind of aid or support from relevant organizations. We call these awards of time, money, and permission "grants" and it is your job, as a civically active researcher, to compose a "grant proposal."

This is a persuasive assignment in the sense that the organization you make your proposal to sees hundreds (if not thousands) of grant proposals each year. In order to receive funding or assistance, your proposal must impress the readers as being timely, important and necessary to civic issues and engagement.
Anyone have a thought for my topic?
It is by snark alone I set my mind in motion. It is by the juice of the coffee bean that thoughts acquire 'tude, the lips acquire mouthiness, the glares become a warning.

Ive worked or volunteered for a few organizations that have made grant proposals, and they usually take 9 months or more and a ton of work to prepare. There is a lot of research, you need to prove the need exists, the money requested will actually solve a problem, that it is sustainable long term with existing resources (grant proposals for things like salaries will almost always be turned down because they will expect you will return in a year and ask again) and that solving the problem will have a long term benefit to the community as a whole, and not just the people using the money.

Saying that, if this was my assignment, I would call around to charitable organizations in the area and find out if any were in the process of preparing a grant proposal. If I liked the proposal in the works I would offer my time to do some research or legwork for the organizations proposal in exchange for a copy of it when it is complete to hand in for my assignment.

**I have no idea if this is considered ethical or would get you in trouble at school, it is simply what I would do**
Pain and suffering are inevitable...misery is optional.
