  • Creep gropes my CW

This was from my coworker. Her job is to make the breakfast in the morning, clean up after guests, and take out the trash. One day a man waved her over.
    "Come here."
    So she went.
    "No, closer."
So she went a bit closer. Then suddenly he grabbed her hand, and stuffed some money in it. She stammered a polite "thankyou" and then he grabbed her around the waist and kissed her. OMG!
She shoved him off and wrote it off as a crazy guest. A little bit later, she was taking out the trash and he told her to come over again. She said no. So he went over to her, and grabbed her by the front of her shirt and pushed it down! Then he put his hand in her bra. She had her hands full of trash, which she dropped and knock his hand off. Luckily another guest stopped him.
I think she ought to tell the GM about it, but she doesn't want to make a big deal of it and wants to forget it. Honestly, Just because it's V Day doesn't mean creeps can act like pervs and get away with it >: - ( I know where he would be if he had done that to me, in the hospital with ice on his groin. Then I would've been sued for assualt I'm sure. :\

Yes, she should talk to the GM, get the masher banned and press charges against him. What the hell did he think she was, a hooker?! Just because he gave her money doesn't mean she is, damn it. GAAAAHHHH!!!!

"Forgetting it," means that he gets another chance to do it to someone else and it might not stop at a kiss/grope. His ass needs to be cooling it in jail where the system can keep an eye on him.
If I make no sense, I apologize. I'm constantly interrupted by an actual toddler.

It's called sexual assault and it's a crime that needs to be reported to the police.

Yep. Sexual assault. And, as a guest, don't you have his contact info on file?

I can understand not wanting to say anything, I got fired from a job for standing up to a creeper like this. Yes, it is sexual assault. No, nobody should have to put up with this behaviour from anyone, ever, for any reason. But I can't see the GM doing anything about it after the fact, except possibly warning other staff about the guest, advising housekeeping not to visit his room alone and I would imagine the staff had already done the rounds on that. I can't imagine most managers would have charges pressed against the guest, and many would not bother banning either. Hugs for your coworker (but only if she's okay with that)!

My opinion as well. If she loses her job over it, she can talk with the labor board in her area and see what legal options she has.

But really, it's sexual assault and that's a crime. Besides, if Creepy McCreeperson thinks he can get away with harrassing her, he could very well attempt it with another female as well - or several.

                Nip it in the bud.

I agree, she should have called the police. It may be too late now though, as a court will ask why she didn't call right away, and that will likely ruin her case.

YES!! The sooner, the better. The reason people think they can get away with that kind of behavior is because other people let them. Maybe if he's arrested for it this tine, there won't be a next time. If she does nothing, you can bet there will be.

Document, cops, and whatever crisis center exists in town who can give advice. It may not have been rape but it WAS sexual assault. Customer should be kicked out and banned AT A MINIMUM. Also charged with assault. Even if it goes nowhere there will be a report on file, which may help the next person he tries this on, because I'm damn sure there will be another.

Even if she doesn't want to officially report it, perhaps a sympathetic cop can come and have a .. word .. with him.

                            1. Would you rather be right, or get the result you want?
                            2. If you're consistently getting results you don't want, change what you do.
                            3. Deal with the situation you have now, however it occurred.
                            4. Accept the consequences of your decisions.
