  • Firefox, must you suck so much?

For those of you who don't know, my computer runs Windows 7, 32-bit. Today, when I turned on the computer, I turned on Firefox, except I didn't. I got a crash report. Each time I try it, I get a crash report. No window opens, just the report. I tried holding down the "shift" key when double-clicking on the Firefox icon to open it in safe mode, but it doesn't work. I downloaded the latest version and installed it - and it crashed, too. What now?

What now is, it's working. How and why, I do not know.

One of the recent FF updates screwed something up; every so often my install won't actually open (but thinks it has) and I can't reopen it until I go into Task Manager and kill the copy that crashed.

Just out of curiosity -- why is it that they seem to release a new "major release/version" every month or two when all they seem to do is fix some bugs, break half of the extensions, and twiddle with the interface a bit? Well, that, and make it even more of a memory hog than it already is...Didn't we call those "incremental updates" at some point?

Does this have something to do with their "Let's release a new 'version' every month for a year" thing a while back? I get the feeling that FF should be calling what they have "Version 11.3.14" or something, rather than 27 or whatever it's on now >_<

Uninstall Firefox, then back up the Mozilla folders out of your Appdata/Local and Remote folders, and delete them; then reinstall Firefox. It should start working again.

(edit) If it stops working again.
