  • Yahoo e-mail problem

*any suggestions are much appreciated.....I'm not computer-challenged but have no idea how to fix this*

As one of the prayer chain directors at church, my job is to send out prayer requests which I receive, and I've got an e-mail list set up for this. However, lately I've been unable to send anything out because apparently Yahoo's system no longer recognizes contact names with special characters in them. So I tried making changes to the "problem" names, and while the changes showed up in my address book, they revert back when I try to send out an e-mail.

For an example - let's say I have a contact named "Bonnie & Clyde", I change it to "Barrow Gang", but when trying to send out a prayer request, the address shows back up as "Bonnie & Clyde".

I've also tried deleting and re-adding the said contacts, but the same problem keeps coming up......any ideas on what I might be doing wrong, or do I need to maybe use another e-mail system to run the prayer chain?

Might there be separate entries for a display name and the actual email address? If so, you may be changing the display name but not the email address.

As far as I can tell, there isn't - I've checked under "Contacts" and the "Prayer Chain" list, and in both places, the "problem" contacts show up with the changes.

Are you using Yahoo's web interface or a client software, like Outlook, on your PC? If the later, what software?

I'm using the web interface, and I should probably mention that I've used different browsers and Windows versions (my laptop has Windows 8, the family computer has Windows Vista,...etc.)
