  • You, woman, should be banned from restaurants... (swearing)

This is an old suck from mother's day last year (UK).

Summary: Rude-ass woman orders a drink and food, complains about said drink and food, gets full refund on both AND gets a free refillable drink (yep you heard that right. REFILLABLE) and free unlimited salad (yep. UN-fucking-LIMITED) and is rude throughout the entire meal.

It was the night before Mother’s Day. Me and my family went out to eat a restaurant. Naturally, it was packed. There was a wait of about half an hour for our meals to come. That was reasonable given the amount of people that were there. It all went really smoothly until a man and a woman came and sat by a table nearby. The man was pleasant, but the woman was very rude right from the get-go, demanding her food and drinks rather than asking for them.

Now, at this place, you can get free unlimited salads with your meal, as well as refillable drinks (certain drinks like Cola and Lemonade). The woman demanded a drink, it came. She took one sip, pulled a face and called the waitress over. She was yelling at her, saying the drink was awful and that it was flat, and she wanted a refund. The waitress was apologising to her but the woman was STILL rude and yelling and then demanded a Cola. What do you know, it’s refillable so she can get as many as she likes! I’m thinking she got her refund too so it would be entirely free.

Then she called the waitress over about ten minutes after the food had been ordered and yelled that the wait was too long. LOL. Really? Then, when her meal came, she didn’t even TRY the damned thing. She called the waitress over again and yelled some more. It was cold, apparently. Weird, that, considering she never even tasted it! LOL! She demanded a full refund. The woman then kept going up to the salad bar and refilling her bowl. She got up about four times to refill it. And most likely she got it all for free! Being horrible seems to get you a lot more than being nice does, unfortunately, but I could never do it. I’d feel so bad. I’d rather be nice, thanks.

My grandma was furious with that woman though. She said that she’d ruined the meal for her and that it ‘choked’ her. She said that being rude and demanding is bad enough but she shouldn’t ruin it for all the other people that are eating too. We were all so bloody angry.

We were lucky though. The poor family that were sitting a few tables behind us got the full extent of that woman’s rant because she shot off her own table and stood at theirs, shouting about the bad service and that her meal was awful (yes, the one she didn’t even taste!), as they were eating their own meals. There were no social cues anywhere to suggest they were even related. The family just kind of looked at her and nodded and uncomfortably tried to eat their own meals. I was wondering if she’d come over to us too, but I shot her a dirty glance that I think must have read as ‘Don’t you fucking DARE’ so she sat down and continued to give me looks for the rest of the evening.

We all agreed afterwards that the woman made an absolute prat of herself, and that it must have been a regular occurrence for her, because the husband just sat there and enjoyed his meal. He more or less ignored her the whole time, in fact. Although I do wish he’d called her out on her behaviour too!

Sounds like he's been mentally emasculated by his shrieking harridan of a wife. If my S.O. were such an ass, I'd have never married.
I don't have an attitude problem. You have a perception problem.
