Weird thing, possibly just coincidence. Just as the eclipse reached totality, all the dogs in the neighborhood (including mine) went nuts with barking and carrying on for a couple of minutes. I'll admit that it freaked me out a bit, though I try not to give much credence to 'signs and portents'.
