  • Bro Gets a Tow!

Family shindig planned for Grandma's for Mother's Day.

Get down to the digging's outside Philly and younger brother isn't there. No big, wouldn't be a surprise to find he's overslept yet again, soon enough the phone rings.

    He can't make it

    Because his car got towed.

    Why? I aks

"NO REASON AT ALL!" he insists "PPA is a fuckin' scam!"

Uh huh, I think, the ol' tow-truck driver sense is tingling here, sensing there's more to this story, but I let it slide, offer to borrow a car and drive into the city to get him.

2 hours later, while we're wasting gas idling in allegedly-outbound traffic on the Sure-Kill Expressway where traffic never... ever........EVER flows freely. (I hate when the signs for Conshohocken loom up, because that means the world's longest, thinnest, parking lot is just up ahead) He again rails about how he can't believe he go towed for no reason.

No reason? I press, what'd they say you got towed for when you called

Being in the way of construction, which is bull!

    You weren't?

Well, I guess I was, but, like, they didn't warn me!

They didn't? Don't they have to give you at least a day's notice the street is going to shut down? I'd think the law has a minimum...

Well, yeah, but, it's only like a couple HOURS! And I don't, like, check on the car every day, and they left a note, but, I was busy this week.

So, you parked a car on the street in an highly urban area, didn't check on it for a week, and you're surprised it's gone? Uh huh.. I've heard this story before, MANY MANY MANY times before. Sorry Bro, but you lose. Even family loyalty can't make me cut you a break here.

Too bad I didn't bring my tow truck, we could've staged the most awesome jailbreak this side of San Quentin.

Also, Bro has moved into a new neighborhood since I came to get him last time. This one has a new and unexpected hazard. In addition to the usual Philly street obstructions such as aggressive panhandlers and cab drivers that are either suicidal or at least nihilistic, I now have a new thing to dodge when I go into his part of town...... the trolley! Oh joy!
    - They say nothing good happens at 2AM, they're right, I happen at 2AM.

So I guess "Bros before Tows" doesn't apply here?

I'll admit, at first I thought Arga was going to share a story about some "bro" (a subspecies of humanity that Arga has vehemently stated his hatred for) that got towed.

Imagine my surprise when it turns out that the "bro" was in fact Arga's bro...ther.

So he got towed by the PPA? Did he meet any Parking Wars 'stars'?

Ugh... I hate the schuylkill expressway. My one and only accident I had was along there.

That's why I stay my ass in NJ.

Saying you'd rather deal with Jersey drivers rather than drive the Surekill... that's saying something.

seems to be a lot of us in Jersey, I picked a good state for relocation.
Honestly.... the image of that in my head made me go "AWESOME!"..... and then I remembered I am terribly strange.-Red dazes
