Promotion time mehbeh?

Well, after more or less seven years of bagging groceries I applied for a job as a checker. Tried putting in for that position twice before (once in 2007, after not even a year of employment) and once more in 2009. Didn't get it either time, but I'm chalking those up to a lack of seniority. Keeping my fingers crossed!

DS Andy Cartwright: Everyone and their mums is packin’ round here!
Nicholas Angel: Like who?
DS Andy Wainwright: Farmers.
Nicholas Angel: Who else?
DS Andy Cartwright: Farmers’ mums.
