    Thoughts & Prayers needed

    Our 2IC/head editor at the newspaper -- let's call him "Mr. Kent" -- went into the hospital two nights ago with chest pains. We found out the next day that he's gonna have to have a triple coronary bypass, probably today.

    I'd appreciate it if you keep him and his family in your thoughts, and I'm sure he can use your well wishes and/or prayers He's a good guy, and I'm sure he could use the help. This all came as a bit of a surprise, in part because he's been working hard to get healthier over the past few years, including losing weight.

    Kinda an odd situation at the hospital, tho -- Bad News: the usual heart surgeons are all off this week. Good news: they brought in some temps to substitute. Said temps are the doctors in charge of heart surgery for the hospital's regional chain ^_^ So, he's in good hands.

    My good thoughs are with him and his family. As scary as it is, it's better than him having a major heart attack.

    As for getting healthier, one of my co-workers had a heart attack a few years ago (she's my age, so not that old), and she had been taking kickboxing for years. Sometimes fitness isn't a complete shield...

      Update - He just got out of surgery. Once they got in there, it was determined that he needed a *quintuple* bypass, instead x.x But he's out and in Recovery now.
