  • Your guilty anime pleasure

So for those anime fans, what is your anime that you really like, but would never be caught watching?

Mine are currently Code Geass (although this is becoming less of a guilty pleasure as my partner is open to watching it with me), Ouran High School Host Club and Negima. Yes, Negima. Both series.

I'm not really ashamed of it, but I really enjoyed Princess Nine, about a girls' softball team in high school.

Most people would be surprised because it's so far away from what I usually like to watch.

Back when we still had Anime Network (I miss it. ), mine was Nerima Daikon Brothers.

Vandread both seasons, Sailormoon, Digimon, Ouran Host Club, xxxHoLic (the manga is to disjointed but the anime is fun) i need to find new anime though. i have a thing about subtitle only, i often dont have the concentration to watch more than one episode at a time with only japanese being spoken and having to watch and read at the same time.

Rurouni Kenshin is still my favorite anime. And manga. I await the day that it gets added to Netflix streaming, or some other legit video source.

Kill la Kill is one of my guilty pleasures. It's only partly because of the fanservice and mostly because it's made by the same people that did Tengan Toppa Gurren Lagann.

There are also live action movies. The first one is out on DVD or media in Japan (you can probably rent a legitimate copy somewhere online) and the other two are coming out this summer in theatres in Japan.

The first movie is PHENOMENAL. Was great! The director was known for directing a certain Taiga Historical Drama so most of the actors involved in the movie are part of the drama. Sato Takeru as Kenshin as just pure bliss. <3

I am ashamed of exactly none of the anime I watch. Digimon and Yu-Gi-Oh are probably the closest thing I have to a guilty pleasure. And I don't really keep up with them, I just enjoy watching them if I happen to catch them on.

That said, Gantz was 13 hours of my life I'll never get back. >.<

As roxas mentioned -- Puni Puni Poemi is one of the very few (SFW...) anime that I would not wanna be caught watching.

As for ones that I really just love ...? The oddly-named Bubblegum Crisis tops my list. I also enjoy the mindlessness of Bleach (sans filler), the creepy - if informative - Hikaru no Go, the original OAV series of Tenchi Muyou (Ryo-Oh-Ki), and the OAV version of Read or Die.

I watch a ton of anime, but my guiltiest pleasure is Bastard! and Ronin Warriors (AKA Samurai Troopers), which were the first anime I ever watched. Both of them are very...well, 80's. Ridiculous, over the top, and RW has one of those funny moments where, for the second episode (and ONLY the second episode), the voice actors on 3 of the characters inexplicably changed, then went back to the old actors the next episode. I still love it.

A bit of trivia on Ronin Warriors, the reason for the change in VA's was because the normal people had head colds and there wasn't enough time to wait for recovery.

                            Jay, Crunchyroll.

Me on the other hand, I've always loved the various Gundam series. (G gundam is still pretty badass.) Azumanga Diaoh (Osaka!), Full Metal Panic (Wish they had continued it, shit got pretty badass as it went) Log Horizon(What Sword art online wishes it was and 2nd season later this year)and No Game No Life (Probably one of the most fun series i've seen in the last few years).

I don't need Crunchyroll for the anime version, as I already have it on DVD. And honestly, I had assumed that Crunchyroll already had Kenshin available. If it hadn't, I would have thought very poorly of them.

I was talking about the live-action movies.
