    just a quicky from just before the weekend...technically this one comes from my husband who works here with me.

    so anyway, for what should be obvious reasons people cannot park wherever the heck they feel like, and must park either in their own site, or up in visitor's parking, and especially NOT in other unoccupied spaces. it may appear unoccupied now, but it may have a reservation for this evening, or we may need to put a random walk-in on it, and if you've parked there "just for a few minutes" and disappeared to another site, the pool, or even gone out with friends, we have no way of finding you and telling you to move.

    we sometimes make an exception if it's quiet, but this happened when we were gearing up for the weekend... maybe not as busy as the 4th was, but it's still prime time summer.. yeah it's gonna be busy. random SC parks on an adjacent site to their own, and my husband notices (mostly because that site was due to be cleaned from being occupied the day before and he needed to get in and clean it) and politely asks them to move. the response? "Wow. i heard you guys were real sticklers for the rules now. I think i won't be coming here anymore because of that."

    And hubby's response should be, "Perhaps that's for the best, sir."

      Amen, someone who's first act upon arrival is breaking the rules isn't someone you want to spend a whole weekend dealing with.

        well of course both of us... our first reaction to that was "GOOD! we don't want your rule-breaking arse here anyway!" but you can't SAY that to them... ah well. XD

          So he heard that you guys (you're a campground?) enforce the rules, then knowing this, proceeds to break a rule, and doesn't like that he was called on it?

              "Sir, did you want to rent that site as well?"

              Of course, that only works if the site's available - but still....

              3. Deal with the situation you have now, however it occurred.

                Hah! You can't rent it! So there!
                To seek it with thimbles, to seek it with care;
                To pursue it with forks and hope;
                To threaten its life with a railway share;
                To charm it with forks and hope!

                    But compliments are ok, right?

                    "I think I won't be coming here anymore because of that."

                    "I like the way you think!"

                    "Best thought we've heard all day."

                    "You're thinking? Don't hurt yourself!"

                    (May not be a compliment, but does show concern for guest's well-being? )
