  • Begging for return scams

There has been a recall of fruit due to listeria contamination. When I read the story in a newspaper today, it said that purchasers of the fruit in question should discard it at home and go to the store to get a refund - no receipt needed (just give the approximate number and type of fruit you had bought).

Anyone working in a grocery store - have you started getting suspicious "no product, no receipt" returns on contaminated fruit?
Any fool can piss on the floor. It takes a talented SC to shit on the ceiling.

I'm going to guess that Wanona(?) is going to be cutting huge checks to retailers anyway, and that the percentage of fraud will be written off against a quicker recovery and assurance of good-will. It really is a scammer dream come true though. Let's hope that the more outrageous ones run into the rare spined manager who calls them out on their "I bought four thousand of them - I wants my moneyz."
