        How the hell did his family not call the cops after he'd been missing for the first night? This makes me really worried about his home situation; how bad must it be to be willing to hide out in Walmart and wear nappies rather than go home?

              True, but I think he did something out of the way. His little "fort" or whatever was out of the way. He'd basically just pilfer food and drink when he got hungry/thirsty, and change clothes so people wouldn't suspect him of living there.

              Also, according to his aunt, he has a frequent habit of running away.
              Skilled programmers aren't cheap. Cheap programmers aren't skilled.

                    Oh wow! I remember reading that book in school. I just couldn't remember what it was called. As I got older, I always wondered what it was.
