We had a newish part-time coworker working at one of our sister buildings, site building #3. We're all trained to work Security at any of the 3 buildings at our 'Site' though some prefer to stay at one location. The schedule was pretty much set and steady.
then, with only a day's warning, newish coworker handed in his resignation and said he had interviewed and accepted a position with the temp agency located at site building #1, and so would be quitting the security company; it was really a breach for him to interview at the site he was posted at in the first place, wondered what he was doing at building #1 on his day off; must have had a secret interview with the temp hiring manager, who not having been to building 3 didn't know he was employed by us! So he was out for a week or so waiting for the new job to start, leaving us scrambling to cover his hours.
This guy HATES working with people, or even interacting. I've gotten the cold shoulder more than once just trying to offer the guy a break from his post to use the bathroom! When we saw he was hired as a 'temp' we were all shaking our heads...Building #1 is chaos.
His first day working in building #1 for the temp agency he quit by lunchtime and ran to Boss's office to ask for his job back! Beg, really. Luckily, Boss had a feeling he wasn't going to like the new job and never submitted the resignation paperwork and kept all his uniform stuff.
But jeeze, loyalty, right?
