  • "I'm glad I didn't have you my first year out of dental school."

A few days ago I had what was left of my upper teeth removed. While not the most pleasant thing in the world, the dentist did his best to minimize the discomfort. When I had gotten x rayed the week before I found out that I have a flat palate. Apparently this makes fitting dentures a bit of a pain. On top of that I have a small mouth. When I commented about this being a fun combination is when the dentist made the quote in the title.

Same issues my roomie has. Continuing fit is also sometimes an issue - she had to get her current set adjusted a couple time as her bones got shifted around or whatever they call it.

I have a feeling getting fitted is going to be fun, but I think the end result will be so worth it. I know it will be nice to look in the mirror and not feel ugly because of my teeth.
