I know this will never, ever change in a bazillion years but I've had a solid run of these for 3 days straight and it's driving me nucking futs more than usual.
Patients who, despite being asked at the beginning of the visit if there is anything extra they need to discuss or have completed, wait until the end of the visit to whip out their short term disability/FMLA/Boy Scout Camp Physical/Employer "Wellness"/School Sports physical form.
AND, the second half of the pet peeve, despite their need for it to be faxed TODAY (URGENT, URGENT, URGENT, EMERRRRGENCY), the portion they are supposed to fill out is F***ING BLANK!
"Your lack of planning does not constitute an emergency on our part" and all that but it can be very difficult to enforce this. Best I usually can do is tell them to fill out their part, leave it, and we will fax it by the end of the day. Not good enough? They can sit in the waiting room and wait until I have enough time between patients to fill in my part and sign it. Bring cookies, it's going to be awhile.
