  • Tis the Season my ass!

Ok I am not gonna be nice though I usually am.......

It is not my fault that the people who handle crediting back your card after you decided at the last minute to cancel your layaway haven't gotten back to you. I don't work in the same building with them, they are stationed god knows where and the only way I have contact with them is via the forms that get sent out when I disposition an incident in our system. Yep, it was filed last week but you were told 7-10 business days before things happen. I understand you thought you were doing a good thing trying to get the money back to go shopping elsewhere but ya know, its in the paperwork you get when you signed up and did the layaway. If you didn't read it and deleted the nice email we sent with the info as welll, then sucks to be you, there is a process and I can't speed it up and neither can my manager.

Yep I have ruined christmas because UPS lost your package your ordered through us. I can see about resending the items but this late in the game it might not reach you in time for Christmas. I can get things sped up with express shipping, but again I don't control UPS so I cannot guarantee anything. I stand behind the company I service but somethings we cannot control.

Do I sound less than empathetic? Really??? I get hollered at all day and when I hear nothing but people complaining and cursing me out, yeah I might sound a bit.....less than happy. Prozac only goes so far.

We aren't we price matching everyone? Things on craigslist don't even enter into our equation for price match. It's still in the box and has the plastic cover on it. Super, sounds like a great deal but we aint matching that bub.

Why don't I know when we are getting more of uber popular movie/video game/toy in? Because my system lists it on order, for me that means anywhere from the next day to two weeks hence. Can I call the manufacturer and let em know we need more?? Nope!

Can I discount higher priced item because we are out of stock of much lower priced item? No. You want me to call a manager over? Ok, darn they said no too! Yep call corporate, you are gonna get me fired because I was the first one to say no.

You asked me if we have a certain movie in that you want to get for little Tina for christmas, I have said we don't have it. Check the computer to see if it is here anyway? The computer only tells me it exists not that it is in the store. You go ask a co-worker if the movie is in, they come to me and ask for you and have me come over. You get the same answer, and no we don't have a interdimensional storage space that we have access to that let's us have a movie we had here 3 years ago. Why did the co-worker come ask me so fast about the movie? I am the one who keeps up with the inventory for it. Can I be wrong about a movie? Sure all things are possible but improbable, since I am the one who also stocks the movies and am brought in by management when we change the department just so I can know the new layout and location of the movies. Am I really smug about that? No just really proud of my record and the many other customers who know and thank me for my hardwork and ask for me by name or ask co-workers to call me at home to see if we have movie(for that reason I don't answer the phone for anybody except for my kids and family when I am off)

I know this all wasn't funny but I am just soooooor ready for this damn holiday to be over with.
I love my customers to death, the problem is they aren't dying quick enough.

You have my sympathies. I think you need some of this

I think you forgot to install that magic back room that will store everything anyone might possibly want. You should get right on that!

I finally lost patience with people asking me to check the back room and told someone that there was nothing in the back room because we wanted our stock out where people would actually buy it. He looked stunned for a minute...I could see the wheels moving in his head...and then he nodded and said "That makes sense." I fainted. (Well, no I didn't really faint. I don't know how to do that, but if I did...I would have.)

I had a customer try to get me to price match an iPod that was listed as half price on eBay. When I declined he told me that "You should otherwise you will go out of business." Apple products had a margin of 1 to 5% at the time and the half price iPods seem wrong. Two weeks later the news was reporting it as a scam. Direct deposit your money and never see an iPod. Pity I couldn't tell the customer "I told you so."

Too bad you couldn't have matched the ebay offer in its entirety - would have served the SC right. He wants to pay half price for an iPod? Sure thing - but he'll never receive the merchandise.
Any fool can piss on the floor. It takes a talented SC to shit on the ceiling.
