So,
Another temp hired for the company I'm contracted to got let go.
The guy was given a choice of shifts and picked 2nd. After a month or so he decided he couldn't work 2nd, but then the only other choice was 3rd. The manager re-shuffled the whole schedule to work this guy in. Then he started complaining that he couldn't do 3rd either, he REALLY needed 1st. At this point he's not even doing what he was hired to do while he's there, and is having issues with coworkers. He then starts calling out, and comes in early today to talk with the manager. He still doesn't want to work the shifts that are available, so the manager let him go. He arrived for work anyway and we had to bring out the manager to him (he wasn't allowed in the building); but he was demanding to speak to another manager because he said this one had something 'personal' against him. No, but this manger is the ONLY one who can hire/fire temps. The manager gave him all the stuff he'd left in his locker and that was that.
So the guy threw away a perfectly good job right before the holidays. If he'd waited it out, eventually a first shift might have opened up, or even a permanent opening. But he acted like a spoiled brat.
