  • Customer won't wait his turn

Had a retired fellow who demanded that I stop waiting on the lady I was helping. He got extremely angry. He had no respect for her or myself.

When I finished helping her (which didn't take long at all) I cheerfully thanked him for waiting and offered to help him. but he only said he wanted his money back and wanted a manager.

I'm not sure if he was getting dementia, but he was meen and had entitlement issues. My corporation takes customer feedback seriously and when customers word vs. a clerks word, they usually side with the customer.

I did talk with the manager he complained to and he said it was all ok, he could tell the customer had problems... but I do not like to have my job security, mortgage and bills rest upon a customer who just happens to come into the store with mental issues.

Call a manger the second someone gets belligerent. That way you have a witness. Also, they'll start yelling at the manger, which makes management FAR less likely to want to accommodate them.

Thank you for your good advice... I will defiantly call a manager right away next time. They just closed another factory in our area and I can't afford to loose my job.

What a douche. Dementia or not, he was out of line. The fact he wanted to complain makes me think he was just an evil git.
