  • You Lost 10 Dollars When???

I go out walking in the town I live in and I happen to live so close to my store than sometimes I walk past it. This one day I'm walking and one of my coworkers is outside and she waves to me. So I cross the street and talk to her and then go in to talk to my manager, who is kind of a high-strung individual. She's very nice though and I tend to mellow her out 'cause I'm usually very laid back.

M: Did you short change a guy ten dollars?
    Me: Yesterday? No.
M: No, he said it was like two weeks ago.
Me: No. I don't ever remember my drawer being over by ten dollars. Not to mention, it was two weeks ago.
M: Yeah, I don't get it. Why would he call now? He was trying to get me to mail him ten dollars. I told him I'd have to go through all the old paperwork from two weeks ago and he was getting really annoyed but really. Why call now? Why would he wait so long? And he said that the manager already knew about it but I'M the manager.

I'm starting to think he's probably doing it to multiple places and seeing if they'll all send him ten dollars.

I think you're right about that one, Gaki.
Law of averages will all but dictate that some will as the staff time to verify the SC's story will easily cost more than the ten bucks.
I'm trying to see things from your point of view, but I can't get my head that far up my keister!

$10 for eternal happiness...I'd be happier with the $10.

            My law teacher

Told me when he was a student, the guys in his room (including him) put in an ad in the Toronto Newspaper "Last chance to send in your money" and a post box address, and guess what? People sent them money.

I understand that this sort of thing was so common at one time, that they actually amended the rules about fraud to cover it.

I had a student come in this week. She'd had Makcreeper pop-ups on her mac, so she called the number on the screen, and gave them remote access to her laptop. I saw the receipt for $100+tx. for a "30 day support contract".

I'd call her stupid, but I'm the one that's getting up and going off to an 8 hour workday five days a week....perhaps I'm not a bright as I'd like to believe I am.
