I really don’t want to come off as being an SC, but how hard is it to actually read what someone writes on a “Contact Us” form? I politely requested that my e-mail address “ abcde@hotmail.com “ be removed from “Angela Brown’s” account, because she registered using it instead of her own, and I’d rather not receive her emails. (I also mentioned that I don’t know Angela, and have no way of contacting her)

How does that translate into my apparently thinking someone might have hacked into my Amazon UK account? (which I don’t have one, and couldn’t register with that e-mail anyhow because “Angela” used it)

"Apparently, Angela Brown put my email into her Amazon account and I keep getting her emails, including orders and order shipped messages. To protect her account, can you please lock it and remove my email address?"

You might want to consider calling them or even chatting with them.

I gotta wonder how Angela hasn't noticed that she hasn't gotten her order confirmation emails... I get one every time I use my non-UK Amazon account!
If I make no sense, I apologize. I'm constantly interrupted by an actual toddler.

Angela Brown is lucky that you didn't click the "forgot password" link or you'd be able to get full access to her account.

That would be a good way to clear up the whole mess. Gain control of the account then cancel it, let it lie dormant, or just update with your info to have your own account.

That's kind of what I did.......I registered for an Amazon UK account using my e-mail address, which means "Angela" is locked out of her account until/unless she changes her information.

I once had someone register an account with an old email of mine. This was back in the old days of the internet, before I learned to keep my email hidden. He obviously saw it on a profile of mine, and used it to open a Myspace account. I kept getting endless crap meant for him on the email, along with craploads of spam, so I went on his Myspace and asked him nicely to change his email. Yes, I did use to have a Myspace; it's dormant, now. XD

He ignored my message so I did several things. One, I registered a new email address for myself so that I could have a clean inbox. Two, I used the "forgot password" feature to gain control of his account. After I did so, I wiped everything from the page and left it to rot. Finally, I requested for the email to be deleted.

I'll admit to doing that with someone's personal ad........I forget which dating website it was, but some woman registered an account there using my e-mail address, so I was getting all her messages. I contacted the site's customer service department letting them know that e-mails for "Jenny Greenteeth" were being sent to the wrong person, but they either couldn't or wouldn't fix anything on their end.

So.....I used the "forgot password" feature, changed the ad to read "I'm an idiot who signs up for websites using other people's e-mail address instead of my own.", and changed the password. (In retrospect, not the most mature thing to do, but sometimes that's been the only way to get "wrong" e-mails to stop)

Arg. Stuff like that is annoying. A while ago I had something similar with a phone number. It was back when I had a landline, and was living in a house which was for sale. So Realtors would call if they had potential buyers who wanted to see the house. I checked the messages a lot. Suddenly I started getting these messages from a Doctors office about someone's upcoming appointments. The first one I ignored, but I was getting more so I called the office to try to clear it up.

Yeah, there is either no communication, or possibly it was HIPAA gone insane. I told them what name was left on the message, and what number they had (incorrectly) called. That's all the info I had! First I got the "after hours" staff lady who told me that she has no access to any records at all. I asked if she could write down the info and leave it for the day staff. She said they are not at that location. Okay, could she email? Since I'm not a patient she couldn't figure where she would send it, and was very confused, so I gave up. I called the next day and told the day staff the same thing. They started acting like I was ASKING for info. I kept saying "no, I'm getting messages meant for *other person's name* and they sound important, so I want to make sure you know this number is not that person!" I literally could not find a way to make them understand, and I started deleting the messages until the house sold and I disconnected the line.

Darnit, I wish that I'd done this to that guy's Myspace page. XD All I did was wipe everything off it and change the password. XD

I'm amazed that any messages were sent at all from potential daters if you're called Jenny Greenteeth <--see nice white ones

I had the opposite problem. my phone number was one digit off from a temp agency. I'd get umpteen calls, from people wanting calls back, who were looking for work. Ok, but first of all, if you call, and the message just states the person's first name, NOT the name of a business i.e. a professional greeting, and that said person isn't HOME, wouldn't that clue you in that maybe you misdialed? Nope. Then again, some of the messages were so unintelligible, I wasn't surprised.

Then i got a bunch from someone trying to make an appt with some dr. Again, they mumbled and I could never quite understand who they were or their number, or i would have called them back and told them to quit calling me!

The only time I ever called anyone back was a woman who left a very detailed message about how she hadn't gotten her paycheck. Her i called back since a. i could understand what she said and wanted, and b. been there, done that, and i didn't want her call to go unanswered since she called the wrong #.

Awhile back, I had an issue with getting "wrong" text-messages......every so often, I'd get a text from a number which I didn't recognize, and after it kept happening, I finally responded to let that person know they were texting the wrong number. They didn't believe they had the wrong person, and seemed to be getting annoyed because they thought I was "messing with them"......ended the conversation with "#So Done".

A bit later, I get a text from them which said something like "Had the wrong number.....sorry about that."

Well, at least they apologised. That's something, I suppose...

I once got a wrong text message from someone that said something about "your kid." I told them politely that they had the wrong number, and they messaged back saying something about "if you wanna play, play, but child support's a bitch" or something like that. Ooookay then. I just let the conversation stop there and they didn't message me back.

I ended up briefly getting calls for people trying to get a Doctor's appointment once, they hadn't dialed the wrong number, Craigslist had MY number listed as the Doc's.

HOw do I know it was them?

Because 1 in 10 was ADAMANT there must be a mistake, CRAIGSLIST had this as the number and they couldn't POSSIBLY be WRONG!!! So why was I picking up and not the doctor?!
