A visitor to Yellowstone National Park was upset that they did not see any bears, and comments that the bears should be "trained to be where guests can see them" !!!!

Alright let's compromise: we'll train the bears to be where you can see them if you agree to train yourselves to not approach them and train your kids to not run up and pet them.

What's that? You'll do no such thing cause then you won't be able to take pictures posing with the bears? Guess we're at an impasse then.

Sounds like the passengers who get upset about not seeing animals from the train

That just reminds me of something I was told the last time I was in Yellowstone. A woman walked up to one of the bison and put her kid on it's back to take a picture. She wanted the rangers to kill this clearly crazy animal because it bucked the kid off. The ranger told her that if they killed every crazy thing in the park, she would be on top of the list for putting her child on top of a wild animal bigger than her car.

Sounds about right for Yellowstone. I always see lots of people doing stupid stuff like that there.

Things like this are why I seriously believe we need a culling.

Getting next to a bear will more than likely have that result...

What does he mean? The bears are trained, they didn't use the right equipment.

To get the bears to show up, you set up a pic-a-nic basket on a pic-a-nic table and walk a few feet away. Soon enough, one will show up, usually wearing a bowtie too.

Oh wait, that's how the bears are trained at JELLYSTONE park, not YELLOWSTONE park. My bad.

Personally, I consider it a win if you go to Yellowstone and don't see a bear. I don't want to be anywhere near a bear.

I wouldn't mind seeing a bear from a safe distance, they are amazing animals, but I don't want to be near it. Binocular distance works for me.

WTH is wrong with some people. Leave the poor bears alone.

I think training the bear would be easier.
