At least they advise not to be sucky about it:
Don’t be a jerk. While what you’re doing may not technically be against any rules, you know you’re gaming the system. Don’t yell at clerks to get your way. Don’t fight with a manager if they turn down your return. Don’t get impatient if a returns line is long. You chose to buy something you didn’t plan to keep. It’s up to you to deal with the fallout.
Still though, the whole idea, as there are rental places for most items.
I'm trying to see things from your point of view, but I can't get my head that far up my keister!

Oh plz, this is Gawker. The same fine, upstanding folks who thought it A-okay to extort the brother of a former U.S. Cabinet member by outing him as gay.

Don't give them any clicks, and ignore anything they have said or ever have to say.
Knowledge is power. Power corrupts. Study hard. Be evil.

I am so glad I did not click on the Gawker link now. Thank you Irv for the heads up.
I might be crazy, but I'm not Insane.

What? You don't play with flamethrowers on the weekends? You are strange.

          I. Hate. People.

So, so much. I don't know about your stores but where I work there are strict standards about what can be resold. So most "rented" merchandise has to be destroyed.

They keep saying how it isn't illegal in the article, let's make it illegal. It wouldn't stop it but it probably would make it look hella less appealing for SCs.
