  • Pedo-smile

Anyone who has read Maddox's page, knows how to spot a pedophile.

That said, yet another senior citizen came up to our counter. Alexia and I are working, I stay towards the back, dealing with the chipmunk hiding somewhere in the back [But that's for a future thread.... with pictures ^_^ _root.BabyChipmunk == Cute; ]. I spy a problem: The man has a pedo-smile.

Sure enough, as Alexia helps him, he remarks "You sure are a pretty girl..."

...Okay, I'm staying up here now. She's 17, he's probably 87. He seems to be studying her as she gets his food. Now, she's a good friend of mine, so I'm going to do all that my lanky, 130-pound ass can. I walked up to the counter, told Alexia to get the milkcrate. "I can help you now, sir."

Apparently, I can give really dirty looks that make people think I'm about ready to strangle them. Apparently I also gave this guy that look. He quickly shuffles away.

    Hooray.

    Where's my ice cream?
I've been here for two years, work harder than most others, and I'm getting paid $1.80 an hour
less than the 17 year old slacker you hired two months ago. Maybe that's why I'm not chipper at work.

None of the girls I work with have had problems with old men, but more or less men in their late 30s to early 40s. One of the girls though while cute can be quite intimidating. It was quite a sight seeing a grown man cry like that.

I'd be more afraid of a pedo in his 30s or 40s vs an elderly pedo. I could knock the elderly one to the ground faster.

Was he wearing the pedo sunglasses???

Why do people label this kind of activity with the word "pedophile"? Why? A pedophile is an adult who is sexually attracted to children. That man is a hebephile, an adult who is aroused by adolescents. Sigh.

Probably ignorance. Most people don't really want to investigate too closely.

So...somebody who always has a little smile on their face is a pedophile?

Guess I better watch my back then. People always tell me I smile a lot, so I must be a pedophile.

(FWIW, I think the site the OPO linked to is a joke, not to be taken seriously).

It's just created by someone with way too much time on their hands.

I don't see how the smile is a dead give away. It's usually a sick gaze and sick smile across their face when they see little kids or teenage girls, usually accompanied by swirling their tongue around their lips and loosening the collar of their shirt or wiping their now sweaty forehead.

Oh ew, I wish I hadn't just painted that mental picture.

Regardless of the correct terms of the two "philes", people (yes, including women, they have been known to do it too, don't forget!) should know better than to go after children and teenagers. Under 18 = not legal = against the law = you get listed as a sex offender and might go to jail. Is going after some innocent little child or some curvacious 15 year old girl REALLY worth it? NO.

For God's sakes, if you really need to be with a younger person, wait until they are 18.

Alright, I need to step in and clarify here.

You all apparently need some Maddox history. Read more than one of his posts first, to get a feel for his writing style, and then you'll understand.

A lot of it is just his own rantings, though it may sound like satire, he just puts his opinions on paper, or does what he thinks is funny and doesn't care for two minutes what anyone else thinks. He's awesome, and Maddox is my hero. (Well, one of em.)

Also, blas, i don't know about wisconsin, but there ARE age of legal consent laws. For FL, it's 16, if you're having sexual intercourse with an adult between 18-24.

                  Um, no.

That is what many people think of when they think of a pedophile. Generally, that is NOT how a pedophile will act.

A pedophile, just like an abuser or a serial killer, is a predator. Predators are good at blending in and NOT being noticed. So they are not likely to be making it so damn dead obvious that they are lusting after the toddlers by engaging in the activity described above.

                  Just my three cents.

On the other hand, are they still a pedophile if they think about it/get aroused, but dont ACT on it? I'm sure some feel horrible about their feelings and try to not be predators. I imagine 'pedophile' or predator is one who acts, others are just not.

Well, technically speaking, a pedophile IS someone who gets aroused by children, not necessarily somene who acts on said feelings. There are without question people in this world who are turned on by kids who don't act on their desires. There are also predators out there who prey on children not because of any arousal children cause them, but simply because they can control kids, and their turn on is power itself, as in power over another being.

It's a very complex subject, to be honest, and I am not sure that this forum is the place where we can cover it. Wiser, smarter, and probably better looking people than me have written books upon books about this stuff.....so who knows?

Ah crap, didn't intend for this to become an analysis of Maddox and proper definition of the senior. Plus, hebe-smile doesn't have the same ring.

Just saying, this guy had a creepy little grin on his face, and was seemingly attempting to hit on Alexia, a minor (In Wisconsin, none of the 16yo consent stuff, if you're under 18, it's illegal, no matter what).

He had said some other things, but I didn't hear them because I was putting stuff away to let Alexia go to the back for a milkcrate or w/e I said it was.

And yeah, I suppose if you don't know his writing style, you'd be taking him more seriously.
Here's an excerpt from his site about the Segway:
                        Quoth Maddox
The controller boards monitor the system 100 times per second for conditions that require a response, adjusting the motors up to 20,000 times per second (give or take 19,000), making calculations based on information from five solid-state gyroscopes. You'd think all of this technology would be able to do something useful like cure cancer or make an episode of "Will and Grace" funny, but alas, all it does is balance a pole.
                        --

Hmm, researching the Segway, came across this gem, which makes me laugh (Kamen invented the Segway): Kamen owns the small North Dumpling Island off the coast of Connecticut, and has "declared" the island to be an independent state. Along with its own currency in increments of Pi, and an entire government whose positions include the minister of ice cream. His home (pictured) is located on the west side of the island. An assembly of pillars resembling Stonehenge is located near the house, although its function and significance are currently unknown.

I've seen quite a few 15 year olds who dress to look 20, and they do it specifically to look older than they are. Hardly the fault of someone else when they are mistaken for adults.
