  • Could this possibly be YOUR fault??

Okay, let's review the facts here:

    - You've replaced your phone 4 times
    - You've replaced your battery twice
    - You've done several master resets

and still, STILL you complain that your battery is draining too fast and your phone is running slow...and it's OUR FAULT! (tm) because the phone just HAS to be defective!

It couldn't be that maybe you didn't do the master resets correctly, it couldn't be that you've been being buying 3rd party batteries from some discount website. It couldn't be that every time you reset that phone you reload the SAME crappy "phone optimizer" and "battery boost" apps you apparently can't live without?

No, of course not! There's something wrong with the phone, there just has to be!

Let's completely ignore the fact the odds of having FOUR phones with the exact same problem are lower than hitting three straight jackpots in Vegas and that there truly is a logical explanation as to WHY you are having said problems, it just has to be me and <red checkmark> "sabotaging" you to get more money from you.

Not quite sure how that works but sure, okay.

So I tried, without success, to convince the guy that even if he got a different phone, odds are he'd STILL have the same issues unless he takes some common sense steps to deal with them.

It's like I was on some kind of twisted game show, every time I made an offer to help he'd scowl back: "NO DEAL!"

Then he wanted me to send him a shiny new iPhone 6 plus for all his trouble...free of course.

Yeah, okay. That might fix your battery issues but I'm sure as hell not about to do it. You want an iPhone? Pay up like the rest of us pal.

Then he called me unhelpful, cussed me out and hung up.

I wish I could say this were an isolated incident but I get this call at least three times a week without fail. People just never seem to understand they are causing their own problems especially where it concerns technology.

Rule of thumb. If your battery life suddenly takes a dive, then guess what? You just installed something that is screwing it up.

Or Ingress... (Running the GPS, wireless data, and keeping the screen on all at the same time for a couple of hours? Yeah, the battery doesn't last that long.)

One is a childish fantasy that often engenders a lifelong obsession with its unbelievable heroes, leading to an emotionally stunted, socially crippled adulthood, unable to deal with the real world.

Truth. I realized my battery life was short on my smart phone when I noticed that just going to the 'home' screen from an app doesn't really shut the app off-- it's still running, and therefore draining the battery.

Now I make sure to close the app and remove it from the 'recent screens' feature so it's properly closed and not further draining the battery.

Odds are slim, but it's not impossible. Li'l Sis went through 3 or 4 iPhones that just suddenly bricked for no discernible reason. Her provider sent her a replacement each time and within a few weeks, the phone would refuse to even turn on. She takes good care of her stuff; phone always in a durable case, never near water. She lives in a town a couple hours away from me, so one day when she was visiting we went to the local iFruit store for replacement number 5. That phone actually worked and she's had it ever since. We're guessing the other 4 came from a bad batch.

Of course, being polite and not accusing the provider of sabotage goes a long way in getting your problem solved.
