  • But I used to get it for a Quarter

Why, yes you did. I know you're upset at the prices of our sandwiches, and, you were able to get our sandwiches for a Quarter... 60 years ago, when beef was 15 cents a pound, instead of $2.21 now (which is what I'll be paying for tomorrow's delivery).

Why, no I don't care if you don't won't be back. From the looks of you, you're going to take the dirt nap real soon anyway.

Good luck finding your mythical burger for a Quarter. Go away.

    I need a beer.

        Something I forgot to add.

I heard that our sandwiches were smaller back in the day.

Taking that into account, and adjusting for inflation, they are less expensive now.

Edit, yeah, he was at least 80-90.

              HMMMMMM I vaguely remember

McD's hamburgers being 25 cents (One reason is we have a nearly new McD's in town that is retro-modern replacing a replacement building of an original small white building with the huge Golden Arches and they have an old menu printed on the wall with prices BUT yes I do remember the prices)

White Castle burgers being 10 cents

BACK IN THE 1960's (ya know 50 years ago) when I was a small child
I'm lost without a paddle and headed up SH*T creek.

                  The Boss ftw!

I can remember getting four chew sweets for a penny - either blackjacks (liquorice) or fruit salad. Don't know if they're even made any more.

                    Never heard of this place.

I do remember some cheaper prices. One thing my brother and I love to do is watch old episodes of ADAM-12 (1968-1975) and look at gas and grocery prices when they go by or stop at a gas station or grocery store. Or the prices in the grocery store windows in THE BLOB (1958).

Of course you have to remember salaries were a lot less then too...

Yes, but back then, the salary of one person working 40 hours a week could support the whole family. There might be a budget involved, but it could be done.

It's tasty. There was one in my small town where I went to college.
