  • Morning shift supervisor and team leader got chewed out

My husband told me this after he got home from work last night.

He was speaking to the overnight shift supervisor at work who told him that the morning shift supervisor and team leader got chewed out by the manager who is over all of the porters as well as the porter supervisors at work.

The reason why those two were chewed out...

One of the duties is to clean all of the cobwebs in every garage the porters are assigned to clean. However; since there is not a tool long enough to reach cobwebs far up into the ceiling, those two decided to not have the porters clean them even though they could have told the manager over all of the porters that he needs to order some new tools.

Apparently the property managers over those garages told the Senior Manager over the entire area of garages about this problem, and she told the manager over all of the porters as well. Senior Management above the Senior Manager were probably notified as well.

And Senior Management in general wants to keep the contract with the property management company.

Toxic or stupid, or a mix of both?

I say both, one of my managers is like that.
"I am quite confident that I do exist."
"Excuse me, I'm making perfect sense. You're just not keeping up." The Doctor

It could be a mix of both.

        The reason why is this...

Earlier this year my husband was asked by a client that works at the parking garage where everyone clocks in and out at to dump one of the trashcans since it was full. He notified the overnight porter supervisor of this, who then notified the morning shift team leader. Apparently that team leader told the morning shift supervisor, who then told the manager over the entire porter staff that one of the overnight shift porters forgot to dump one of the trashcans.

The overnight shift porter supervisor was not happy.

According to my husband's employer this new staff was supposed to do a better job at cleaning the parking garages. I was told by my immediate manager when I had to go to his office earlier this year regarding getting documentation as to why I was laid off from my job as a porter that I and the other morning shift porters were not doing a satisfactory job in keeping the garages clean.

Then according to another manager, there was a different reason as to why the new group of porters were hired, but he could not say why.

The Manager over all of the porters promised the property management company as well as Senior Management that his staff will keep every garage spotless.
