  • AGM...is gone

So today I go into work and am told by Big Boss Man that the AGM, who has been the most resistant to actually following labor laws, is "no longer with the company." I liked the guy for his finely-tuned BS Detector, sense of humor, and general personality, but honestly I feel relieved.

I don't know what happened, but this was sudden. He's otherwise professional and if he had a better job offer, he'd put in two weeks notice. So either he got pissed off and walked, or...he got fired. It actually takes a LOT to get canned from this place (as evidenced by the fact I'm still there) so I'm assuming he got pissed and quit. Last time I worked (I was off yesterday) Boss Man got a call from OSHA. Maybe that had something to do with it?

Anyway work will be interesting until they find a replacement or promote someone (my Front Office Supervisor would be an amazing choice) and get another desk agent.

OSHA... hmm. Is AGM the type to make an OSHA report as retaliation?

It could also be that someone finally went to the Labor Board about his shenanigans on that front, and the bosses were able to tie the offenses down to him specifically.

If they are connected my guess is EricKai is probably right. Think he finally pissed off the wrong people and had a hissy fit when reprimanded.

So, that wasn't enough for him to get canned, but...

...but that is (apparently)? What kind of... no, nevermind, I'm veering dangerously close to fratching.

What I meant by having a hissy fit was "quitting on the spot". Sorry I wasn't clear.

Ah. I pictured him having a toddler's tantrum.

Loll he isn't the "tantrum" type. He was hard to read because he basically speaks with the same tone and volume all the time. I heard our new night auditor is putting in for AGM. He has a lot of hotel experience and I would love it if he got the job; the guy is super nice and takes special care of the (many) hospital patients that visit us, but he doesn't take BS from troublesome guests. He has also worked as a prison guard so there really isn't much he can't handle.

Not the best qualification - since in that field guests who get out of hand have their stay extended, while in yours they need to be evicted.

Wolfie! He really is good though, he's basically a teddy bear but can turn into Angry Mama Bear if someone is disrupting another guest's sleep.
