I'm going to try to keep this short because I'm still pissed off about this asshole but since I'm home now I'd rather concentrate on nicer things.

There was a company-wide snafu with our photo orders today.

Customer has two rather large orders cancelled by our system.

    Customer is pissed (rightly so).

    I try giving him options.

Customer is not able to use options that I provide.

Customer is mad that he has to wait 11 hours before he can talk to the store manager.

    This is "not acceptable".

I walked into the beginning of this when I started today. I'll admit I held off calling the customer because I knew from talking to the girl before me they were going to be assholes. And even after they were called it took the guy 2 hours to come in to figure things out. And that was already after 9. He also seemed surprised that they wouldn't be ready tonight even if the orders came through. Uh, the stuff has to print and be assembled and our overnight crew doesn't do that, especially on truck night.

Ugh, I'm getting pissed off again. Time for a distraction.
I would have a nice day, but I have other things to do.

Ugh, sorry to hear it. I understand customers being angry when something gets screwed up, but as my brother would say ... "It is what it is." Hope it gets straightened out quickly and you are off the hook.

      But I need it!

      Trixie

As you know, I work for the same company. The amount of abuse we take for stuff beyond our control is amazing

I may have told this story before, but similar to your customer who comes in at 9 and wants their entirely complicated order done NAO .....

A woman came in at 9:45. "I only need one picture" she says. I foolishly agree. :/

She does indeed have only one picture. But, you see, the picture was taken horizontally. The collage frame she wants it to go in only has a vertical space available. Okay, you say, just crop it to fit. Oh NO. If I crop it to fit her space, some of the people in the background will be cut out. Okay, I get it, this is a wedding picture of the entire wedding party. We certainly don't want to leave anyone out! I explain, over and over, how I cannot change the way the picture was taken, and if she wants it to fit in THIS space, without leaving anyone out of the picture, it cannot be done. Cue much wailing and gnashing of teeth ... BTW, it's now about 10:10, we close at 10.

"But I NEED this tonight!!!!! It's my wedding anniversary TOMORROW!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!"

Now, I did not say this, but thought it .... Okay, it's your anniversary tomorrow. Last I heard, anniversaries occur at the one year mark from the last anniversary. That means you've had ONE FULL YEAR - 365 days - to get this done. And you're upset with ME?????

I wash my hands of the whole situation. I think after the way this guy acted it's up to managers to handle it. I don't go into work until 3 today so hopefully it's dealt with by then.

And Teefies2, I understand your situation. I've had that happen many times. Like when people try to make a canvas. Sorry, your picture isn't going to work unless you don't mind people wrapped around the side.

Had one lady come in two years in a row around the holidays with the same picture trying to get a canvas. When I told her that it wasn't going to work 2x I get "Well, the other girl did it" Ugh! Probably by wasting a lot of time and supplies to give this old bat her canvas.

Also didn't help that last night was busy and we were shorthanded and I was working with one of my friends turned manager. Sometimes we can make it work but last night, no. I could start a whole other thread about my work frustrations.
I would have a nice day, but I have other things to do.

I work at a camera store and most of our customers are like this, entitled beyond repair. This is actually tepid to what we put up with on a daily basis here.

Well, at least this story has a happy ending. By the time I came in today the two orders were received and done. The managers worked their magic to keep the customer happy. Then the wife came in to pick up the orders and apologized for the way her husband acted.

Cue the rose petals and rainbow.
