  • Right of weigh on the water.

    A recreational boat crashes into a Washington State ferry. Nobody hurt. Supposedly the guy was in the bathroom.

    Possibly I found this more interesting because I grew up seeing that ferry route all the time. I apologize for my terrible photography. Vashon Island is the small tip of land on the far left. The port of Tacoma is under Mt Rainer. You can just see the ferry.



    Here, you can see the ferry a little better. It's not the actual one that got hit, but it's the same route.

    Replace anger management with stupidity management.

    Right of way goes to the encumbered vessel. Whoever is more maneuverable must yield. That does make it a "Right of Weigh".
    Life is too short to not eat popcorn.

      The vessel to starboard has the right of way - always. If you are to starboard you hold your course so the vessel to port can get around you safely. As a courtesy power boats usually give way to rag hangers. A sail boat tacking has no right of way.
