  • Ruined Christmas for a fuel thief

The incident itself happened a little while ago, but I only learned the aftermath recently. Basically, a drive out signal appeared on the till so I called the security guard over. Let's call him Tony. We pulled up the pump on the CCTV and saw one of the most blatant drive offs ever. This young blonde woman pulled up to the pump and filled her car. After doing this, she jumped into the driving seat and drove off without even attempting to come inside and pay. We got her number plate, her car details, everything including a perfect money shot of her at the pump.

The sequel to this is that the police obviously had a sense of humour, cuz the day they chose to go and apprehend her? Yep, Christmas Eve. The SC was arrested in front of her entire family and hauled off to the station. So her Christmas was ruined after she was charged with theft.

She got to be an object lesson to her family for Christmas!

Ironic but fitting. I hope other SC's will learn from this but somehow I doubt it...

Unlikely. The SC was probably of the ilk who believes that the round things hanging from the roof are just funny little decorations rather than CCTV there to record number plates of idiots who attempt to steal from us. XD

            I love it.

Sadly, I can already hear her side of the story. It wasn't her fault, she was distracted and all of the other stations are pay first, so she just forgot to pay after. Totally innocent, she certainly isn't a thief, she just forgot.

And then, instead of the gas station calling her to gently remind her that she still owed the store money, they sent the SWAT team to her house and they broke down her door, held guns on her family, slammed her to the floor to cuff her and dragged her outside naked and threw her in the back seat of their car and sped off without ever telling her why they were there.

And then her family, who was long fed up with her shenanigans, says she's full of shit and laughs in her face.

Not gonna happen; apparently, she's done this before. O_o The police have already done the whole "You can pay up or be arrested" thing at another petrol station.

Sarcasm dear, sarcasm. I’m well aware that dealing with civilians in any capacity will skin your faith in humanity alive, then pickle anything that remains so as to watch it shrivel up into an immortal husk thus reminding you of how dead inside you now are.

She's probably one of those that believes "needs" (food, clothing, housing, furniture, toiletries, utilities, transportation, education, healthcare, sanitation, laundry, cable TV, internet, streaming video) are someone else's responsibility and her income is for her to have fun with. Oh, wouldn't that be just wonderful ... "Yeah, sure, we can raise your bail money ... um ... we'll be around maybe January 6 ... You'll be okay until then, right?"

I think you may be onto something, Cap....unfortunately

BTW, congratulations on ruining Christmas, LNS.

You may have ruined one Christmas, but you sure as hell delivered a Christmas miracle to however many people read this story. The needs of the board outweighs the need of the SC.
