  • Check your damn balance.

I know it is near the end of the month and all BUT I had 3 of these right in a row.

    Balance #1

Took a phone order. customer want to pay with a card. I input his CC # and info and send it out. Card comes back approved BUT ONLY APPROVED for $0.35 YES 35 cents. Customer had me try another card and this one is declined. cancel the order.

    Balance #2

We get an internet order but the CC comes back declined. MOD calls the customer to inform them of this. OPPPPSSSSS no money oh well cancel the order.

    Balance #3

same address as #2 above and they also used a CC BUT only $7.92 of a $21.92 order total is charged to the CC with a $14.00 cash balance.

NOW this address is always has "problems" and I know this delivery is just going to be "normal".

I arrive at the address and proceed to literally knock for 5 minutes (usual problem). Door finally opens and I inform the person of the situation CC + Cash balance. Person then runs off (usual problem) I assume looking for MONEY.

And I wait and I wait and I wait for 5 more minutes. OH here she comes with

2 HANDS FULL OF CHANGE OH JOY

OK well this is going to take a few minutes as I always count out every single coin to make sure I have at least the right amount. YUP EXACTLY $14.00 in change and I have been at the door for almost 15 minutes.

I leave. when I get back I find out why it took them soooo long at the door. they called the store to whine about having a cash balance. MOD told them CC PLUS cash or no food.

PUBLIC SERVICE ANNOUNCEMENT: Check your order confirmation e-mail. It just might contain some useful information.

        Or lack thereof.

Funny story, I placed an online order with my phone for a personal pizza to pick up at lunchtime. I got there, and they had no record of any online orders. So I went to show them on my phone, and discovered that I missed an important step, i.e. hit the "Place order now" button.

I'm sure they expected me to blow up at them and try to make it their fault somehow, but instead I told them what I wanted, and played on my phone until it was ready.

It seems to me that if someone is on a very short budget, that person would keep better track of their money.

When I'm using a gift card, I don't keep track of the balance but I do know how much I've spent. When it gets low, I don't worry about that balance, as long as I know that I have enough to cover the purchase on my debit card. I'm sorry if that is an annoyance, but I like to use every penny on a gift card before using it for an ice scraper.

YUP they did and I really REALLY hate delivering to this address. The same thing I described above in my OP (Balance #3) is the norm EVERY.SINGLE.TIME.WE.DELIVER there

as in knock knock and more knock until they answer even after calling/texting
more time than is necessary to get $$$'s together as in FUCK IT YOU ordered, you were told approximately how long it would take for delivery, you were told how much your order would be $$$ wise AND IT STILL TAKES you a crapload of time to get the $$$$'s ready AND be ready to meet the driver when they get there.

I told the MOD I will never deliver there again --- yeah I think I can get away with this and yes I am serious.

Did something like that not too long ago. Placed an online pizza order, left the house to run some errands and went to get my goodies. When I get there "we have no online orders sorry". I thought that was really strange because I'd never had any problems before but figured I did something wrong and went home. Turns out somehow I changed the date on the order to the NEXT day. Whoops. So just waited another day to get my goodies.

That is why they are on a short budget.

People who do track their money know when not to place order for things they don't need like store delivered pizza vs how much food that same money would buy at the local grocery store.

They are always running short of money, even if they make good wages because they don't know when stop spending.

And I thought I was being a pain because I had to go get my glasses, which took me all of 10 seconds. In my case, I had the right amount of money to pay for my pizza meal, plus give the driver a good tip. I feel that anyone coming out in the rain to deliver my dinner deserves a good tip, and the driver thanked me profusely. Maybe I'm not as bad as I thought.
