I don't know much about cancer. Some family members have had cancerous lesions removed from their face, but I've never had to deal with a friend or loved one having full-blown cancer. Should that day ever come I don't know how I'll react, but thanks to Cancer Owl I know how NOT to react. Sometimes you really DO need to draw someone a picture for them to get it:

Both comics are depressing as hell, which is the opposite of how a comic should make you feel. However, these comics serve a greater purpose by helping people understand what it's like to deal with cancer, and helping people who are struggling with cancer see they are not alone. Definitely worth a look.
