  • Sundae sadness....

Admittedly compared to some of the great traumas and tragedies of life,it ranks pretty low,but I have been confronted by this on two separate occasions now...

How does one eat an icecream sundae to enjoy it most?
As it's in a very long narrow glass with a long narrow spoon, you end up with spoonfuls of cream, then one flavour of icecream, then another flavour and finally at the bottom, spoonfuls of fruit syrup.
I've tried sliding the spoon all the way down and mixing it up-that only results in all the cream and ice-cream escaping all out of the top and pouring down the sides.

So how best to enjoy my dessert as God intended it-at one and unseparated without covering half the table in it?

One must find a better purveyor of Sundaes. One that uses a wider glass that will allow you to reach the bottom of said glass without the treat of Sundae Hell*.

*When one dies, they will spend eternity suspended upside down in a vat of all the Sundae goodness that they have spilled. Kinda like Irish hell, but with Ice Cream instead of Whiskey.

Ask for the toppings in a separate dish on the side? That'd be my first choice, but then I'm not real big on mixing my ice cream with anything (makes it go all melty and I do not like melty ice cream. I want to have to use an ice axe to eat it.)

Kittish, I like my ice cream the same way you do. The flavor should be in the ice cream, not on it. I do sometimes get a caramel sundae from McDonald's. I like that it's in a shallow cup. That's the only sundae I ever eat.

Ever try a hot butterscotch sundae with butter pecan ice cream?

It'll cure what ails ya, trust me!

Used to get that at a local ice cream/candy shop that has since closed.

'course that was in my pre-diabetic days, but ah, memories....

*shudders* No, and if any gods that exist are kind I never will. That sounds disgusting.
