  • Question regarding credit ratings ...

Well, credit ratings and OSAP (Ontario student loan people).

When my loan was in "deferment" my credit rating was fairly respectable. Then I let it slip out of deferment, they tried to take a couple of payments, and both bounced ... not surprisingly. And not surprisingly, my credit rating skidded downwards.

I've just been informed as of this past Friday that I have been granted another deferment. Anybody know when that is likely to show up on my credit rating and (hopefully) pull it back up?

I'm in a serious search for apartments and am hoping that it doesn't take too long. I've already got two places saying "If you want to see these places, make an appointment online now!" Both are also asking if I have anything in receivership -- yep, one credit card, around $2,000. Don't know how that will impact my applications, as I'm making payments now on time and regularly. But I sure don't need that screaming-red-flashing-light of an OSAP loan on top of the cc (when it was in deferment, it was certainly listed on my credit rating, but it was green and SAID "In deferment").

There is another forum with the likely answers: debtorboards.com
I'm trying to see things from your point of view, but I can't get my head that far up my keister!
