  • New years Eve - 2017

What are your plans for tonight? Are you going to:
    1. Go out and party
    2. Stay at home and hide
    3. Go to bed early

I will probably be #3 and help along by a Benadryl. I am trying to catch whatever The Wife caught last week.

And a happy and prosperous New Year to everyone!

#2. DH and I do this on holidays that involve a lot of drinking, since the "drivers" in our area are quite bad enough on a normal day, TYVM.

Since I have caught food poisoning and spent all last night puking and more, I'm prolly going to be in bed, hoping that this isn't an omen how the new year is going to be. Ugh y stomach feels like a spiky sea urchin is bouncing around in it. I can't even drink like I had planned.

I'll stick with my head cold, thank you. Hope you feel better.

Mrs. IA and I are going to a "kid friendly" New Year Eve's party from 4 to 8. We'll probably be home by 9. We will be up until midnight to see the New Year in. We might even drink one of the bottles of champagne left over from last year.

              1. Watch football.
              2. Eat finger foods.
              3. Stay in
              4. "celebrate" the NY new year (wife is from NY)
              5. put the kiddo to bed
              6. Drink & "get some". ;-)

Probably cook dinner in a short while, get a shower and go to bed early. I still have to be at work at 7 am. tomorrow, regardless of the day of the year.

But right now, I'm watching Noble House on TubiTV while three of the cats are taking over the bed.

Will most likely stay in. Husband will be lucky if I am still up to see the ball drop as I'm usually looking to head off to bed between 8 and 8:30. We've been invited out to a friend's house to celebrate, but we haven't decided yet whether we are going. It's 1:30 in the (early) afternoon and I'm still in my jammies.

I might make kielbasa and cabbage. I’m working on some artistic stuff and taking care of my dogs Caoilfhionn, River Song and Emrys. Nothing overly exciting.

Tonight is going to be pretty much an ordinary night here. Gaming until 8 or 9 pm (with homemade pizza, yum!). Boyfriend goes to work then, and I'll stay home puttering around. Might make a batch of soap, there's a design I want to try that if it works will be awesome for a friend's birthday in February. Spend 5 minutes or so at a time watching my 3d printer work. It's mesmerizing watching it build stuff. Maybe make a batch of special caramels for FIL (Boyfriend's dad, really).

Stay home with a Twilight Zone marathon. I did bring home some fancy pastries and a small bottle of sake at the big Asian market in NJ, so we'll probably have those. I'm off work tomorrow so will probably try to clean up my room...and figure out WTF happened to my plants, the healthiest of which is now all but dead (mom's explanation is the age of the seedstock...what does that matter if the plant has been healthy for almost a year?).

We're eating mini pizzas made from crescent roll dough and hanging around the house pokin' at stuff online. We have a bottle of wine for later. I expect the Warts next door to arrive home sloshed AF between 1 and 3 AM, with the usual car-door slamming, yelling, etc.

Hope everyone has a safe and happy new year!

I spent New Years Eve at a friend's house with my SO and our re-enactor buddies. Many games were had of Uno, What Do You Meme and Disturbing Friends. My partner learned the finer arts of a Firefly board game (or as I referred to it "Calvinball" - neither SO or I have seen it). And then around 11:30, we all cuddled up in the friend's living room to ring in the new year.

Aussies, did anyone else catch the freudian slip that Charlie Pickering made during the Fireworks broadcast?
