Yep, thats what I was told by some moron this weekend.
This lady, who seemed really nice when she checked in, had 2 rooms this weekend. I really didn't understand what was going on with the people staying in the rooms (she checked in Thursday for a 3 night stay with two kids, on Friday, she had a second room for a 2 night stay that had some old guy and 2 more kids). The kids were from 8-15 years of age.
What happened on Friday was the lady lost her key, and needed another. She had two and lost one, so I had to re do her existing key and make a new one, to void the old key (if she lost it, and its still active, thats a security issue involving other guests now since it can be used to get into a back entrance). She didn't like this, but complied. That was Friday afternoon. In the evening, it happened again, with the other room. Again, she wasn't happy that she had to get the other key and have it redone along with the new key.
Well on Saturday, they did it again. I was seriously getting annoyed at this point, this is ridiculous, people learn to hold on to the keys if they lost them once.
The problem this time was that a 9 year old was looking for a replacement to a lost key. I told her that I couldn't give her a key. She told me her mom told her to get one, to which I replied "I can only give one to your mother, could you please get her?", and the kid seemed okay with it, smiled and said "okay" and ran off.
About 2 minutes later, the mother comes and has a major attitude (and tourettes, she mentioned it when she checked in). She was yelling at me because I didn't give the 9 year old a key. I told her I couldn't just do handing a kid a key, that wouldn't work at any hotel. She said fine and wanted a key, and thats when it started. Of course, I had to re do them all since she lost one. This time, she didn't want to comply. She asked, "why the hell do with have to do this shit everytime I lose a fucking key?", so I explain the security risks involved. She replies, "I don't care about security, thats your problem, not mine". Sorry to inform you, but it is your problem. Considering that you let your 9 year old daughter walk around the building unattendant, what would you do if some guy picked up your lost key in the parking lot, opened the back door, walked in the building, went up the stairs, saw your daughter, grabbed her, and ran out the building with her. And yes, I told her this, and she replies "why would you let this person into the building to begin with?".
It was a lost cause, dumb mother, poor little girl.
I told the mother, I am no longer issuing keys to her, she had to use the keys she had, I wasn't going to make any new ones for her.
Ended very well also, on Sunday, they started up with my dad, they told him I was rude and wanted a refund. He didn't go for it (of course I informed him of this lady). The old man that was with the lady started up this time, mentioning that he fought in the war to save this country and "terrorists" like my father are ruining this country and treating Americans like shit (yea, thats the intentions of my INDIAN father, to treat all American's like shit, its our mission ). Needless to say, the local PD escorted stupid tourette lady and bigot supposed veteran (he didn't look that old) out.
Note: I should mention that there little rant went on for 30 minutes, with most of it being about "you people come to this country" and "I cant understand, speak English" and "FUCK YOU FUCKING SHIT HEAD ASSHOLE!". I wouldn't waste the local PD's time for something petty.
