  • It's above my head....

Just an excerpt of small conversation from today.

Small background. We dont accept returns or exchanges for plants in our garden center. This is mainly because we are the middlemen in this transaction. We get plants from a greenhouse and we sell them at their prices.

    CSG: Customer service girl
    YL:Yelling Lady
Me: Garden ceneter/Home E/ Stockguy/ Major Home Fashions workhorse

CSG:*on phone* yah umm i have a lady who isnt happy about our return policy
YL: *in background* you guys should have a sign about this sort of thing!!!!
CSG: She says you guys need a sign about this sort of thing.
Me: We do. It's right above my head when i do a sale.
CSG:*to lady* They do have a sign ma'am.
YL: Well it should be bigger!

I went inside to the service desk afterwards. turns out she left her plants there in a huff. Guess i got myself some materials to make a nice basket ^^

I'm always amazed at the places that do let you return plants - who knows what you have done to the poor things in the time they were in your possesion.
Free plants for you - cool!

I can understand a policy that wouldn't take plants back.. but I would also understand a strict policy if the case was that they bought to many plants and wanted money back for that.

As far as I know, no places take plants back around here, but I could always be wrong *shrug*

personally im fine with returning plants that are still in planters and look alright and resellable. We just decided at the beginning of the year that we would have a strict policy so no one can do the whole 'she returned some why cant i?'thing.

In this case if i was running the GC i would have made an exception but i turned down the position this year so its not my call. O well
