  • Not going to ask, not going to ask ...

A customer rushed up to my register today and handed me two tags of the type on my store's clothing line (yes, I know I work in a grocery store ...)

Thing was ... there was no clothing attached to either one.

I looked up at her in some puzzlement.

    "I'm wearing them," she explained.

Me, rather lamely: "Well ... um ... whichever item was attached to this tag is a final sale only."

"Oh, that's the tanktop," she said cheerfully. Over said tanktop she was wearing a brightly coloured gauzy long-sleeved top, which rang in at full price. She added that she was "meeting someone," hence (I guess) the mad dash through the clothing section.

I was dying to ask what she'd been wearing when she walked into the store, but I'm only just beginning my 90 days with the store and I couldn't imagine that would end well ...

What was she wearing, and... where is it now?

I have to assume the items she was wearing/buying didn't have security tags on them.
"I look at the stars. It's a clear night and the Milky Way seems so near. That's where I'll be going soon. "We are all star stuff." I suddenly remember Delenn's line from Joe's script. Not a bad prospect. I am not afraid. In the meantime, let me close my eyes and sense the beauty around me. And take that breath under the dark sky full of stars. Breathe in. Breathe out. That's all."

I assumed she was carrying her original clothing out in her purse ... it was a decent-sized purse and since it's fairly hot here now, she would have been wearing something lightweight. But I don't know. I'll have to ask on my next shift if anybody found anything ... funny ... in any of the change rooms ...

I have not been made aware of security tags on anything. We're not exactly talking high-end merchandise here ...
