  • Did they WANT me to turn me into the film's antagonist...?

Only my third movie since theaters re-opened, and who walks in just as the trailers were starting...? A couple pushing a babbling infant in a stroller. This for an R-rated thriller.

    Talk about feeling Unhinged.

And this is only one reason why I prefer to get the DVD instead of going to the theater.

Yep. That and the chatterers (not necessarily small children) and the folks who can't bear to turn their cellphones off for the duration of the movie, and so on and so forth.

Yes. The phonies are absolutely dreadful in the theater. What's worse, at least for me, is the constant bathroom problem. Diabetes ruins your life. It certainly ruins movies you can't pause or rewind.

It's not the diabetes. It's a universal truth.

The last time I went to the movies was when "Kill Bill Pt1" came out. There were two reasons I have watched all movies since at home.

              1. Kill Bill ended half way through. No warning, no explanation. Just ended. I walked out completely discombobulated. When I found out there was a part 2 that was not going to come out for months, I felt cheated.

              2. A little girl sat right next to me during the whole movie. She would have been 5 or 6 years old. She spent the whole movie sitting there swinging her legs and singing to herself. A lady I assume was her mother sat on her other side and completely ignored her until the movie ended. This is ultra-violent Kill Bill. Arms and legs chopped off. A huge floor covered in body parts and blood. The top of a head chopped off with the brains showing. "R" rated. Adults only warning.

Not only did the theatre let her in, but her mother took her there and let her sit through 90 minutes of the most violent movie I had ever seen. (Until a few years later I saw "Django Unchained")

It's a rare time I go to the movies. Other people, diabetes, not having control over the film are all factors. Plus I just plain will NOT go to a movie theater during a pandemic. I don't trust them to get it clean. When I do go it's to re releases. I saw The Exorcist, Steel Magnolias, and Fast Times at Ridgemont high when they were anniversary releases in the theater. Steel Magnolias I saw twice, at the time it was released and an anniversary one. But I won't even do that now.

There is no freakin way I'd go to a theater now, and if I did it wouldn't be with a baby. ESPECIALLY with a baby. Sure, let's infect our infant in a closed in theater. Jeez. Last movie I saw in theater was Beautiful Creatures.

The chance of getting infected in a theater is RIDICULOUSLY low.

It is still more than zero. It is not a chance I'm willing to take.

I'm not taking that chance either. There is no way they can clean each theater thoroughly between each film.

Even with a complete cleaning that somehow got EVERYTHING, it's still going into a confined space with a bunch of unknowns who just might be contagious.
It's just not happening for me. Not even if someone else is buying the tickets.
