I am in what I like to call the hell that is semi-annual sale....and it will only get worse!
SC #1 - wanted me to look up her store charge so she could make a purchase. No problem, IF you have your license. No ID, no lookup...simple as that. She got all huffy with me since i wouldn't look up her account without any ID. Um, this is for YOUR protection, since anyone who knows you have a store charge and your name and address can come in, say they are you, give your info, and buy stuff. If we don't check, how do we know WHO is using it? This is why we need ID! it's not that difficult.
SC #2 - got this one second hand. Again, customer with a store charge. If you forget your receipt, and used your charge, we can call customer service, and have them look up the receipt info, which is what we need in order to return the item(s). Unfortunately, as its sale time, it takes time to get through. Customer told the manager, after getting impatient with the associate, "i'm not giving you any of my information" - too bad the manager couldn't turn around and say "well then, i'm not doing your return" - but she couldn't, and in the end SC #2 got her way.
Not so much an SC, but we do SPAs (sale price adjustments) - so the first few days of sale, customers come in, wanting to know if stuff they bought earlier is on sale. We'll look it up - WITH the receipt, if it did, they get the difference. One lady had a receipt with w/2 items - i look up item #1, and not on sale, same with item #2 - she then says "well, so and so (manager) said it would probably be on sale" - which is why i NEVER say that when asked. I simply say "we don't know what will be on sale, but if you come back after it starts, we can check, and give you the adjustment on anything that is"
And finally, the woman who came in at 6:30 - and left AFTER closing...drove us all nuts, here, there and everywhere around the store...but she did buy a lot of stuff, but kept going on about how she bought a pair of shoes, and now they're on sale. Great, bring me the receipt, and i will be HAPPY to make the adjustment, but with no receipt, i can't do anything.
And this was only last night! I can only imagine what's yet to come!
