This still perplexes me to this day.
So this woman comes in, returning a book. Says it was a gift, and it has no price. I find the price, and tell her she can either get store credit or do an exchange. She says "Yeah Yeah," and then hands me a Return Gift card. "Here's my card." I punch it into the computer, tell her the ammount on the card. I ask her "Are your gonna look?" and she replies "Yeah yeah.' She leaves counter, I notice her looking at the impluse items, so I focus on other things.
MOD later is cleaning up the front, and she asks me about the book I had put onto the side. It's about three hours later. The woman has not come back. I'm the only person at the register for the 3 hours, and the woman never came back.
So the store has an unaccounted and unclaimed $15 Travel Book (We double checked just in case it was stolen from our location; thank goddess it wasn't), and some woman out there thought I gave her credit onto the RGC.
