It was a full moon yesterday and boy did the crazies come out.
Okay, when you use our atms and you don't put your pin in and run it as a credit card advance it will send you up to the cage to have the transaction finished. It's a security precaution.
SC: The scary man in the red shirt with the floofy hair.
Me: well yeah, the sane one
SC: I just ran my card though the atm and it didn't give me any money!
He said this while a nasty cigarette is just rolling around in his mouth and making me almost cough with the smoke.
Me: I just need the card you used and your ID.
Hands me the card and then proceeds to stare at me.
Me: I need your ID.
SC: I don't have any ID. I have my birth certificate though.
Me: I'm sorry sir, that is invalid ID. I need a drivers licence, a state ID, a passport, things like that.
SC: I just said I DON'T HAVE AN ID! (He got mad there)
Me: Well, then I can't complete the transaction. In order for me to do this, you MUST have your ID.
SC: Well, put the money back on my card!
Me: I can't... In a few hours it will clear from our system and it depends on your bank how long it will take to return to your card.
SC: Can't you just run it and then void it out?
Me: No, sir. I need your ID to do that... And even that way takes longer. It will go into a sort of limbo and it could take weeks to return to your card.
I stood my ground and didn't go and get a supervisor because I knew what I was talking about.
He was pissed and sort of stormed off.
Like an hour later there he was again! I figured it was no big deal because there was a line and he could go and bug another cashier. Wrong. He purposely waited until I was free and went to my window.
SC: I called my bank and its still not back on my card!
ME: Sir, it will take more time. It could even take up to a few days. It depends on your bank and the owners of the ATM.
SC: Does it matter that I have Bank of America?
Me: I don't think so...
He left again. Now... That's not even the bad part of what he does later.
I was doing my buy (getting cash) and I saw him again. I had my window closed and ran to the back before he could bug me again.
He got my co-worker. Lets call him J.
J took a copy of his card and his receipt. I guess the SC got a fax number from his bank and thought if we sent those items that anything could be done. I think it was stupid because I was suspecting that the card was stolen. But they did it anyway. They faxed the info to the bank and sent him on his merry way again.
I was on my lunch break (forty mins) and was in the back talking to my co-worker about crazy stalkers and disgruntled customers who are mad and attack you. Bascially freaky things that could happen.
Another co-worker comes into the back and says to me:
"I don't want to alarm you but that guy is back again and it looks like he's waiting for you..."
Me: OMG.
The supervisors told me that it would be okay and that they'd just stand there at my window with me. Just in case he did something. I wondered why the HELL security was never called but whatever.
I guess the whole time I was on break he was just standing there staring at my window. His arms crossed, just staring. He'd move locations but he would just stare... I was nervous about going back to my window. I was afraid that maybe had a gun or something or was waiting for me to leave and attack me once I left the cage. I was getting all scared and wondered if I needed an escort to my car once I left to go home.
The guy stayed for another twenty mins, finally go back into line and my male co-worker called him over because he thought SC was going towards me again. SC went to male co-worker and complained some more about his money. He pointed at me but I couldn't hear the conversation but whatever my co-worker said made him finally go away.
To me it was scary because he seemed fixated on me. I'm a chick and a great target for crazies. It just freaked me out and I think that security should've been alerted. Luckily I didn't see him again.
Security could've removed him for the fact that he had no ID on him. That's illegal in a casino and the state I live in.
