Yesterday, a customer's car was stolen, she was shopping alone with three kids, two under 2 and one about 11 or so. She had parked in one spot and her car dissappeared. She nor security could find it. They looked everywhere, eventually they did find the car. It has been parked on the other side of the parking lot. Apparently someone had taken her car for a joy ride and parked it elsewhere.

Quoth mafiagodfather View PostApparently someone had taken her car for a joy ride and parked it elsewhere.
Because my first thought was that she forgot where she parked her car, thought it was stolen, and was too embarrassed to admit it when she discovered what had happened.
Have we all become this cynical?
If you have to ask, it's probably better posted at www.fratching.com

I'm sorry? What? Someone stole it, just to park it on the other side of the parking lot? Excuse me if your post's purpose is sarcasm, but you may be a little to trusting if you believe that far-fetched story. Unless, there WAS an obvious, visible attempt to break in to it.
I guess stranger things have happened, but my first inclination is to be skeptical.Check out my cosplay social group!

Quoth mafiagodfather View PostThat's what she said, and we had a few situations before where this has happened. I think that whoever is doing this is just doing it for the excitment of breaking the law and not getting caught. The vidoe tapes produced nothing. Anyways the one of the points of joy riding is for the thrill of not breaking the law and not having anyone know.
That's nuts. Is this some kind of mental disorder? What normal person does that? Would this new disorder be classified as autokleptomania?Check out my cosplay social group!

Because sometimes it's more than a lack of discipline and manners. Sometimes it really is a problem better treated with chemicals.
However, the other 95% of those who try to pull the "I can't help it!" card need to be kicked in the jewels with Klingon boots.Any day you're looking down at the dirt instead of up at the dirt is a good day.

A friend of my sister's keeps having his car "stolen" by another friend to teach him to stop leaving the keys in the car.
Although, I'm not sure it's similar as you say this keeps happening to different people. The icon is a bunny with a spiked collar from some carpet ad.
